Iron Man’s concept fits w/ Marvel’s hard-luck heroism: playboy technocrat Tony Stark must remain in his iron mask to survive a war wound. The plot—Stark lays low a stereotypical Red warlord in Vietnam—has Kennedy-era currency, while Heck’s snazzy art & Kirby’s armor design add to the hi-fi realism.
